Pookie Originals started with a blanket. Why?

A blanket is one of the most personal objects in your home. It’s there when you’re exhausted, when you’re overwhelmed, when you’re resting, when you’re doing nothing at all. I’ve always felt that comfort is emotional as much as it is physical, and a blanket sits right at the intersection of the two. I wanted to create one that felt intentional, not an afterthought, not decorative, but deeply considered.

 

What did you want this blanket to feel like?

Like relief.

The moment you wrap it around yourself, your shoulders drop and your breathing slows. Soft, cocooning, grounding, without feeling heavy or restrictive. It needed to drape, to move with you, to feel like it was holding you rather than just covering you.

 

Tell us about the process of creating it.

It took time. A lot of time. I was very particular about the fabric, the weight, the stretch, all the small details that most people don’t consciously notice but feel instantly. We tested endlessly until the blanket felt exactly right. There was no compromise on comfort. If it didn’t feel like a soft landing, it wasn’t it.
